DAY NINE
Yesterday, his nose was not long enough. It is not possible to add on. I was able to fix it by raising his eyes a quarter of an inch. These corrections are nerve racking but OK because all the while the eyes need to get re-carved and pushed back toward the ears, making the face three dimensional. As the corners of the eyes are pushed back, all the planes of the brow and the side of the face fall into place. Likewise, the corners of the mouth go back in space thereby defining the shapes around it.
